I am Refugio Llamas, and I am running for Mayor of Los Banos in 2024. With a dedication to honor, integrity, and responsibility, I aim to lead our vibrant city into a brighter future. For over 30 years, I have been deeply committed to public service, championing transparency, accountability, and community engagement.

My journey in public service has equipped me with extensive experience in large project management and formal leadership training. I have proudly served on the City Planning Commission and School Oversight Board, and I hold a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis on Management. My background enables me to understand the complexities of our city’s needs and to provide effective, innovative solutions.

Los Banos is the second-largest city in Merced County, yet it lacks a clear vision for its future. I am committed to changing that by ensuring that every resident's voice is heard. I support the recall of two city councilmen and a thorough city audit to restore trust and accountability in our government. My promise to you is a full-time dedication to this role, with no special interest ties, ensuring that our tax dollars serve the general public, not a select few.

Key components of my platform include the construction of a public swimming pool and a commitment to transparency in all city operations. I believe in making informed, fair decisions that benefit the majority of our residents, regardless of how long they have lived in Los Banos or their personal beliefs. My goal is to foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed and valued.
